English as an Additional Language Teacher

The role is based at a culturally diverse school with 338 students from various backgrounds. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching primary English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) and implementing high-quality engaging and effective differentiated teaching and learning EAL/D programs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement EAL/D programs that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Guide teachers in the effective use of ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales.
  • Work collaboratively with staff on whole-school data collection and reporting practices.
Requirements:
  • Approval to teach primary English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with teachers, school leaders, and families.

This is a permanent part-time position of 4 days per week, 0.8 FTE (full time equivalent). An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
