EAL/D Teacher Role
This is a teaching role that involves working with students who are learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). The successful candidate will have experience in curriculum development and the capacity to support EAL/D students.
Key Responsibilities:- The teacher will collaborate with school leadership teams and EAL/D officers to implement EAL/D management plans.
- They will design and facilitate professional learning opportunities for teachers.
- The teacher will coordinate and facilitate the collection of student work samples and assessment data.
- They will support EAL/D students' learning needs through various pedagogical processes.
- You will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of Catholic education and its mission.
- Show a well-articulated understanding of EAL/D pedagogical practices grounded in current research.
- Have expertise in identifying EAL/D students' needs and planning for their support.
- Apply knowledge of diverse student needs to support full participation in learning.
- Facilitate analysis of student work samples using ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions.
- Use various assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
- You must hold appropriate qualifications for teaching primary K-6.
- Be accredited to teach Religious Education or commit to gaining this level within 5 years.
- Hold NESA accreditation to teach in NSW.
- Have well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Display strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
