Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a centre for premature and critically ill babies, providing safe care across Victoria. About the role

Advanced Neonatal Care Specialists deliver high-quality, holistic care to newborns with complex needs. They assess, plan, and deliver care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, supporting families through education and advocacy. A regular day includes:

  • Providing expert nursing care to critically ill newborns in a NICU environment.
  • Collaborating with families and healthcare teams to support neonatal health outcomes.
  • Applying evidence-based practice to deliver safe and effective care.
  • Developing advanced clinical skills through mentorship and supervision.

Key Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
  • Extensive neonatal experience across SCN, HDU, and NICU settings.
  • Postgraduate certificate completed or in progress in neonatal nursing.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills in high-pressure neonatal scenarios.
  • Committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care with empathy.
