About Our Social Worker Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Social Worker.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for enhancement of all students' learning.
  • Use evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.
  • Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families to access this support.
  • Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.
  • Develop and/or maintain appropriate data collection and confidential records keeping and reporting systems for individual students referred for social work services in line with department procedures and policies.
  • Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to school, community and interagency/networks relevant to the position.
