Job Title: Staff Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Specialist to join our team at West Moreton Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, clinical governance, and clinical activity within the Community and Acute Mental Health Service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our new inpatient mental health service, which includes a state-of-the-art, multilevel facility designed with patient well-being in mind. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and expertise in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness in a specialized mental health service setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level clinical leadership, advice, and direction within a multidisciplinary team and to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead mental health recovery model of care, evidence-based practice, and continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for junior medical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services.
Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.
  • Current registration to practice as a specialist in psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Medical Board of Australia.
  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
