About the Role

Infrastructure People is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team in Brisbane. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of multiple projects across the East Coast of Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Responsible for all elements of construction for the project, ensuring that all disciplinary specific engineering activities are coordinated and that the referred scope is delivered in accordance with the overall program plans, designs, specifications, quality and budget objectives.
  • Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ): Provides positive leadership to subcontractors, monitors and controls their performance, and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with the specifications and relevant procedures.
  • Planning and Operations: Ensures that all available resources are applied to the project works in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, and that rigorous readiness reviews are held for all works to mitigate risk, apply contingencies where necessary, and assure the delivery of the planned works.
  • Resourcing: Supervises and coordinates resource allocation, ensuring that the Company Competency Management processes are applied to the project.
  • Scheduling and Reporting: Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems, and assists in the preparation of monthly internal reports for the Project (cost and performance).
  • Communication: Conducts team/toolbox meetings on a regular basis with the project team and subcontractors, and communicates with project staff and Infrastructure People management to encourage a collaborative environment.
  • Sustainability: Supports the project team to achieve the environmental, sustainability, and social procurement targets for each project in line with the Infrastructure People Corporate CSR and Sustainability Targets.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in construction, engineering, or similar discipline from a recognized institution (i.e. Certificate IV or Degree), or equivalent years of experience.
  • Construction Industry Induction Card.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in construction/engineering environment, including construction experience gained at Foreman level (projects with expenditure of $20M or above).
  • Working knowledge of HSEQ requirements and implementation of same.
  • Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.
  • Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
  • Principles and practices of contract and construction management, risk management, project scheduling, and management.
  • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Relevant rail experience is desirable.
  • Understanding of sustainability principles in through all project phases including design, procurement, and construction is desirable.
