Job Title: Workforce Safety and Wellbeing Specialist
Description:
This role is responsible for the development, management and delivery of professional work health, safety, wellbeing and rehabilitation and return to work services. The position involves informing and supporting relevant senior managers and staff responses and strategies.
The specialist implements, reviews and reports on work health, safety, wellbeing and rehabilitation and return to work policies, guidelines, procedures and networks consistent with Health Service policy. The role is responsible for the review, implementation and coordination of the safety management system and rehabilitation and return to work services for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
- Qualifications in work health and safety or injury management are highly regarded.
- A high level of knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply the provisions of the Workplace Health and Safety Act and associated acts, regulations, policies and standards.
- Demonstrated skill in conducting audits, investigating accidents and dangerous events to identify risks and causative factors, and make recommendations to control risks in compliance with the legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to apply injury management practices and strategies to facilitate appropriate outcomes for injured and ill employees.
Main Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of work health and safety principles and be able to apply them effectively in this role. Additional responsibilities include reviewing, implementing and coordinating safety management systems and rehabilitation and return to work services for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of work health and safety legislation and regulations. Ability to conduct audits and investigations. Skilled in applying injury management practices and strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
