Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team at Northcott. As an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will provide supervision and support to Core and Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioners, deliver Person Centred Behaviour support training, and work within a capacity building model with various consumers, stakeholders, and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervision and Support: Provide guidance and support to Core and Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioners to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality Behaviour Support services.
  2. Person Centred Behaviour Support: Provide Behaviour Support services to a complex caseload, utilising a Person Centred approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  3. Training and Development: Deliver Person Centred Behaviour support training to staff and stakeholders, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective Behaviour Support services.
  4. Capacity Building: Work within a capacity building model with various consumers, stakeholders, and customers to build their skills and confidence in Behaviour Support.
  5. Project Work: Be involved in project work as identified, contributing to the development and implementation of Behaviour Support initiatives.

Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum ten years' experience working with a diverse range of people with a disability, including those with complex needs.
  2. Behaviour Support Experience: Minimum five years' experience working in a role that included Behaviour Support responsibilities.
  3. Mentoring Experience: Minimum five years' experience mentoring staff to implement Behaviour Support Plans.
  4. Positive Behaviour Support Approach: Experience working with customers, staff, and families utilising a Positive Behaviour Support approach.
  5. Person Centred Approach: Experience working within a Person Centred approach.
  6. Capacity Building Approach: A passion for a capacity building approach and customer rights.
  7. Caseload Management: Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload in an efficient and effective manner.
  8. Technology Confidence: Confidence using new technologies.
  9. Eligibility: Eligibility to work as an NDIS Commission approved Advanced Practitioner.
  10. Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Nursing, Social or Health Sciences, and/or Completed or currently completing Positive Approach to Behaviour Support Core Standard including appraisal process (FACS); or CHCDIS006 - and experience in the disability and/or community sector.
  11. Driver's License: Current driver's license.
