Project Director Role

The Project Director oversees the delivery of major building projects from pre-design to post-construction, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including project procurement, stakeholder management, and contract administration.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain excellent communication and collaboration throughout the project.
  • Mentor a team of project managers and guide them through various stages of their projects.
Main Tasks Include:
  • Lead the coordination and management of building projects using modern construction methods.
  • Manage project procurement, ensuring adherence to time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure project alignment with their requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage external consultants and internal staff involved in project delivery.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on procurement and project programming.
  • Manage project financials and reporting.
  • Mentor and support a team of project managers.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on building construction.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Experience with modern construction methods.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Tertiary qualification in construction management or a related field.
  • Experience working on government projects is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety principles.
