Job Overview

The Manager, Engineering and Assets will lead the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and asset management outcomes for the community. This key leadership role is responsible for strategic asset management planning, overseeing the Capital Works program, and ensuring the effective application of engineering excellence in project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Act as the asset owner for multiple asset classes, ensuring compliance with relevant asset management policies, strategies, and plans.
  • Develop and implement Asset Management Systems and Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Provide authoritative technical advice on complex civil infrastructure designs and oversee project management including procurement, contract administration, and budget control.
  • Engage with residents, government agencies, contractors, and elected officials through high-level consultation and liaison.
  • Drive innovation and sustainability in infrastructure planning and delivery.

Essential Criteria:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (mandatory).
  • Experience in civil and building design, asset management, and delivery of civil works programs.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing professional engineering teams.
  • Extensive project management experience with proven budgetary and contractual oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
