Submarine Safety and Certification Specialist

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Certification Technical Officer to join our team at ASC. As a key member of our submarine safety and certification team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness of our submarines.
As a Safety and Certification Technical Officer, you will be responsible for contributing to the management of the SUBSAFE boundary, operating the Submarine Safety Control Centre (SSCC), and conducting the duties of Platform Safety Coordinator (PSC) and/or Duty Platform Coordinator (DPC). You will also contribute to the review and update of technical and test documentation, and support the SUBSAFE Coordinator role during designated periods for designated maintenance availabilities.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need to have appropriate trade qualifications with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a maritime, naval or dockyard environment. You will also need to have good information technology skills and awareness/knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, as well as experience in managing multiple challenging stakeholders. Demonstrated strong initiative and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential.
EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance, and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
