About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Certification Technical Officer to join our team at ASC. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness of our submarines and contributing to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct witnessing activities to support the management of the SUBSAFE boundary, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Operate the Submarine Safety Control Centre (SSCC), providing real-time monitoring and control of submarine safety systems.
  • Conduct the duties of Platform Safety Coordinator (PSC) and/or Duty Platform Coordinator (DPC), as required, to ensure the safe operation of submarines.
  • Contribute to the review and update of technical and test documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the SUBSAFE Coordinator role during designated periods for designated maintenance availabilities, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of safety-related activities.
Requirements
  • Appropriate trade qualifications with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a maritime, naval, or dockyard environment.
  • Good information technology skills and awareness/knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in managing multiple challenging stakeholders, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance, and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
