Online Court Officer Job Description

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is a jurisdiction within the court services statutory authority, with a long history of delivering justice to the people of Victoria. The court handles over 300,000 cases annually across 51 venues, accounting for approximately 90% of all cases brought before Victorian courts.

As an Online Court Officer, you will facilitate and manage online court proceedings, including the MCV OMC triage process that assesses suitability for listings in the Online Magistrates' Court and/or open court.

You will work collaboratively with the OMC team and liaise with coordinators, Family Violence and Specialist Courts staff to ensure timely assessments of matters and appropriate referrals to legal assistance and support services.

Additionally, you will assist the effective functioning of the OMC by performing administrative services and clerical tasks.

This role offers a challenging and dynamic environment where you will work closely with the Judiciary, police, legal profession, community groups, and members of the public.

Requirements

A law degree is required for this role.
