Farm Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategically plan and manage farm operations to ensure effective use of resources and timely completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities, oversee staff, maintain property and equipment, and ensure the health and welfare of livestock.
  • Support operational goals and promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

The role involves hands-on knowledge of sheep management (excluding breeding), with responsibility for weekly coordination of sheep/lamb movements. Experience in cell grazing is preferred, along with competency in operating and maintaining modern farm machinery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with beef cattle and sheep across various production stages.
  • Strong understanding of animal welfare and low-stress stock handling.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

As a Farm Manager, you will contribute to implementing biosecurity management measures, and ensuring adherence to workplace safety and animal welfare standards.
