We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Farm Manager to join our team in Warrnambool, Victoria. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a key role in managing farm activities, livestock, and pasture management.
About the RoleThis position involves working closely with the Farm Manager to oversee farm operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning. The successful candidate will have excellent pasture knowledge and implement effective grazing management practices to optimize pasture and feed quality.
- Manage and monitor the feeding, health, and general care of livestock.
- Maintain and monitor electronic dairy systems, ensuring accurate data management and system functionality.
- Collaborate with the Farm Manager to monitor progress, provide updates, and communicate any operational concerns.
- Perform routine farm maintenance and adhere to machinery upkeep schedules to ensure all equipment is running efficiently.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Previous farm management or relevant farming experience is recommended.
- Strong understanding of pasture management, grazing techniques, and livestock care.
- Solid understanding of electronic dairy systems and data management.
- Good knowledge of farm machinery and maintenance schedules.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required.
