Cloud Service Engineer Opportunity

The role involves working in a cloud-based team to provide services and solutions for clients. The engineer will be responsible for managing applications, hosting services, and maintaining security standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement reports to analyze performance trends and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide analytical insights to support prioritization efforts
  • Understand the scope of current service levels and KPIs, and demonstrate knowledge of defining new metrics
  • Ensure risks and issues related to critical services are recorded, tracked, and escalated as necessary
  • Focus on problem management goals and initiatives to address and track issues in a timely manner
  • Build good relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of IP networking, DNS, Active Directory, SSL certificates, and PKI
  • Experience with databases, SQL queries, backup & recovery strategies, and enterprise monitoring tools
  • Ability to analyze traffic for common services, and experience with Java Application Server management
  • Security-focused mindset and experience with technologies like AWS, Terraform, VMware, Windows Server, Linux Server, firewalls, physical servers, and switches
  • Knowledge of information security issues and industry standards like SSAE16 and ISO 27001
  • ITIL certification is an asset
