About the Role

The Allied Health Department Head is an integral part of the health care team, responsible for delivering high-quality services in dietetics to meet the health and wellbeing needs of patients/clients. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge, clinical proficiency, and ability to work collaboratively and lead a multidisciplinary team, taking leadership in clinical and operational decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead the delivery of quality services in dietetics to patients/clients of the SNSW Local Health District.
  • To provide expert advice on nutrition and dietetics to healthcare teams.
  • To coordinate and manage dietetics caseloads across a small regional team.
  • To participate in clinical research and implement evidence-based practice.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligibility for membership of Dietitians Australia (DA).
  • Demonstrated highly proficient written, verbal, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge, clinical proficiency and ability to work collaboratively and lead a multidisciplinary team, taking leadership in clinical and operational decision making.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and organise dietetics caseloads across a small regional team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and leading implementation of evidence-based practice.
