Key Roles and Responsibilities:

This role involves overseeing the preparation of various dishes on the restaurant's menu, supervising kitchen operations and staff where necessary, training junior cooks and kitchen hands, planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, ordering supplies for the business and working with specialized cooking equipment.

Chefs are required to be proactive in creating new recipes and menus according to customer requests and management direction. They must ensure that food is prepared and presented at the highest standard throughout all stages of preparation and presentation.

  • Prepare and cook a variety of recipes on the restaurant's menu
  • Oversee kitchen operations and supervise employees when needed
  • Train junior cooks and kitchen staff
  • Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs
  • Order food supplies for the business
  • Work with specialized cooking equipment
  • Develop new recipes and menus according to customer requests and management direction
  • Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation throughout all stages

Skill Requirements:

  • AQF level Diploma or Advanced Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Creative flair and passion for culinary innovation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
