The Guidance Officer plays a vital role in supporting students, teachers, and parents through advocacy, counselling, and psychoeducational assessment.
- Critical Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students, teachers, and parents on educational, behavioral, career development, mental health, and family issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate effective working relationships and partnerships with parents, school staff, and external agencies.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide recommendations for tailored adjustments and interventions.
- Support schools in implementing policies and procedures related to student protection, gifted and talented education, behavior management, and risk mitigation processes.
- Deliver specific support in secondary schools, including planning for senior education and training, career guidance, and future pathway options advice.
Striking an optimal balance between confidentiality and information sharing is crucial while maintaining accurate records and engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities.
