The role of a Counsellor is to provide support and guidance to individuals, couples and families navigating life's challenges. This rewarding position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.
About The RoleThis varied and challenging position involves providing high-quality support services to those facing complex issues such as domestic and family violence, separation, trauma or parenting difficulties. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and brief intervention services
- Facilitating therapeutic and psycho-educational groups
- Managing intake and assessment processes
- Maintaining high standards of record keeping, data collection and reporting
- Contribute to continuous improvement, planning and evaluation activities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure holistic care
- Participating in supervision, training and professional development opportunities
Essential qualifications for this role include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences
- Eligibility for professional membership with APS, AASW or similar
- Current Driver's Licence
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain
- Australian Work Rights and Federal Police Check (or ability to obtain)
