Water Service Technician Job Opening

A permanent opportunity exists within the Water Team to provide a safe, reliable and cost-effective water service for the community.
Key Responsibilities- This labouring role assists the Water Team to deliver an effective water operation and maintenance service, coordinating site access, permits, safety and statutory permissions to perform maintenance activities.
- Conduct activities for major maintenance, breakdown, and planned works to minimize costs, ensure asset maintenance, reduce downtime and reduce reactive maintenance requirements.
- Within Bulk Water Treatment, focus on flushing reticulation mains, monitoring water quality through chlorine residual testing in the reticulation network and reactive maintenance to water reticulation quality issues.
- Mandatory qualifications include a current MR class driver's license, Construction Industry White Card, ability to work as part of a team, strong community and customer relations skills and a strong work ethic.
- Desirable qualifications include understanding of Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, EEO, anti-discrimination and privacy obligations and QLD Local Government Act.
- Proven experience working with teams to achieve common goals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
