Job Role
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in our state-of-the-art prawn farm in Proserpine. The technician's key responsibilities include:
- Conducting daily water quality sampling, testing, and analysis for hatchery and pond management.
- Managing microalgae growth and conducting microscopic observations.
- Performing larvae feeding, assessments, and broodstock breeding performance monitoring.
- Preparing detailed reports on water quality metrics and hatchery activities.
- Collaborating as part of a team to execute the daily production plan safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining the highest standards of biosecurity and a Zero Harm safety culture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A strong passion for hands-on work and a fast learner.
- Demonstrated mathematical aptitude and observational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An adaptable and resilient attitude suited to a dynamic working environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in prawn farming or related field.
- Knowledge of algal identification or qualifications in Marine Biology or Aquaculture.
