Job Title: Leading Electronics Engineer and Technical Director

Are you an experienced electronics engineer with a passion for leading technical teams? Do you have a strong background in designing and developing complex electronics, including precision analogue data acquisition/processing and high-speed digital circuits?

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Research and Development team as a Lead Electronics Engineer and Technical Director. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of talented engineers and contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge navigation and robotics products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of electronics engineers, setting technical direction and goals and ensuring projects run to time and deliver on key performance specifications;
  • Manage the design and development of complex electronics, including analogue signal processing and digital circuits;
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure designs are well-integrated and meet project requirements;
  • Mentor junior team members and help them progress professionally;
  • Estimate development time and effort for project planning;
  • Identify scope and schedule risks and address them with management;
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy, turning high-level goals into executable work packages;
  • Drive accountability within the team to ensure timelines are met;
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering;
  • 10-20 years of experience in high-level electronics design roles and/or hardware management;
  • Experience managing highly technical teams;
  • Experience designing and developing complex electronics, including analogue signal processing and digital circuits;
  • Significant experience developing precision analogue data acquisition/processing and high-speed digital circuits;
  • Exposure to FPGA will be highly regarded;
  • Experience with optics or photonics will be highly regarded;
  • Exposure to systems engineering principles and practices will be highly regarded;
  • Strong knowledge of WHS practices;
