**Expert Family Consultant**

We are seeking an experienced and skilled family consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be appointed as a statutory family consultant under Section 11 of the Family Law Act 1975 and authorised to deliver services as a family counsellor under Section 10.

As part of your responsibilities, you will conduct child-centred assessments, including interviews and observations with children. You will also assist parties in resolving or narrowing disputes through parenting dispute resolution conferences, provide expert evidence to the Courts via written reports and/or oral testimony, undertake risk screening and assessment for case management and safety planning, and advise parties and the Courts on external support services for children and families.

**Mandatory Qualifications:**

  • A recognised degree in social work and membership eligibility in the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • General registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency.

**Essential Skills and Knowledge:**

  • Extensive knowledge of child development and its impact on children and families.
  • Clinical experience working with children and families, including trauma-informed family assessments.
  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to conduct risk screenings.
  • High standard oral and written communication skills.

**Desirable Experience:**

  • Working directly with children and families.
  • Conducting risk screenings and family assessments.
  • Assisting people in conflict resolution.

**Requirements for Success:**

  • Ability to reflect on clinical practice and participate in performance feedback and professional development activities.
  • Capacity to work effectively within a legal system and collaborate with professionals from various sectors.
