Key Role in Stakeholder Engagement

The Community and Stakeholder Engagement Lead plays a pivotal role in spearheading community consultation and stakeholder engagement initiatives. They collaborate with stakeholders to motivate, educate, and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

Implementing comprehensive community and stakeholder engagement programs for key capital works projects involves:

  • Focusing on identifying and addressing community concerns
  • Developing solutions that resolve engagement barriers
  • Identifying risks and developing strategies to minimize delays and ensure timely project progression

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Assess issues, risks, and opportunities, providing suitable strategies
  • Supporting land access and acquisition processes where necessary
  • Leading project meetings, workshops, and key stakeholder workshops
  • Engaging with councils, shires, landowners, local Federal and State MPs, and community associations
  • Developing or refining community engagement plans to support consultation and engagement
  • Providing executive officer support functions for community consultation groups
  • Assisting in managing responses to feedback received through statutory and other consultation processes
  • Ensuring engagement is transparent, equitable, and accessible

Essential Skills & Expertise

Tertiary qualifications in Community Engagement, Communications, or related fields; IAP2 Qualifications or equivalent understanding; extensive experience in stakeholder and community engagement, preferably within infrastructure, energy, or rail sectors; ability to work with diverse stakeholders in politically sensitive environments; demonstrated issues and risk management on complex projects; team leadership experience; high-level verbal and written skills, including strategy writing and delivery; working knowledge of digital media and digital technologies to support community engagement;
