The Lead Teacher Electrical plays a vital role in coordinating the daily operations of the electrical programs. This includes ensuring compliance requirements are met, coordinating training and facilitation across various programs and qualifications, and contributing to program planning, development, and review.

The successful candidate will have a current A-Grade electrician registration, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and a minimum of 5 years' current industry experience in electrical. They will also possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively resolve issues surrounding administrative systems and staff rosters.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the success of Melbourne Polytechnic's electrical department. The estimated salary for this role is $111,391 + Superannuation, based on the company's location and the required skills and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, deliver, and assess as a teacher within the Electrical Department
  • Communicate regularly with the Program Leader and other staff within electrical programs to establish a flexible team environment and consistency in resource and delivery strategies
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance processes in relation to program and course administration, design, and delivery assessment and evaluation of training materials
  • Provide pre-course advice to students and participate in the student selection, enrolment, and induction process
  • Develop teaching resources and assessments that meet curriculum and contract requirements
  • Identify, create, and participate in professional development relevant to teaching and maintenance of vocational currency
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessment in line with Melbourne Polytechnic and contractual requirements
