**Job Overview**

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to provide financial focus and oversight on our end-to-end freight process. The successful candidate will utilise commercial, financial and analytical skills to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.

The role involves analysing transportation costs, performing balance sheet and accrual reconciliations, developing and maintaining rate cards and transport models, enhancing and developing group financial reporting and analysis models, and challenging process flows and cost controls.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Business or Accounting, CA or CPA qualified desirable, with 5+ years relevant business/practical financial analytical experience. Direct experience in transportation and/or supply chain environments preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyse transportation costs with commentary and insights to understand cost drivers and variations against budget/forecasts.
  2. Perform balance sheet and accrual reconciliations related to transportation for action on under/over accruals.
  3. Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose rate cards & transport models, audit transport supplier invoicing for accuracy as per contractual terms.
  4. Enhance and develop group financial reporting and analysis models related to transportation to support better decision making.
  5. Use reporting and analysis outputs to challenge process flows, cost controls and suggest opportunities to improve cost efficiencies.
  6. Review transportation elements in cost-to-serve model to enhance profitability of different customers, customer segments and distribution models.
  7. Participate and support the delivery of rolling monthly forecasts, quarterly reviews, and annual budgeting.
  8. Prepare monthly reporting, including commentary to explain transportation cost behaviour and variations.
  9. Work with financial accountants to provide input into the accruals required for transportation costs as part of the month end close.
  10. Monitor internal controls in accordance with policies, guidelines, and the schedule of authority.
  11. Participate in cross-functional business and operational projects where related finance input is required.

Requirements:

  1. Qualification in Business/Accounting or similar.
  2. CA or CPA qualified desirable.
  3. 5+ years relevant business/practical financial analytical experience.
  4. Direct experience in transportation and/or supply chain environments preferred.
  5. Experience using and developing reporting with Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik, Power BI, TM1, Tableau, etc.
  6. Experience of Audit / Practise Trained or similar role in industry desirable.
