Workshop Leadership Opportunity

A leading organisation in the mining equipment sector is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead a skilled tradespeople team and drive performance in a dynamic workshop environment.

The successful candidate will oversee people, safety, and performance, with a strong focus on driving a strong safety culture through SWMS, pre-starts, and toolbox talks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading and motivating a team of skilled tradespeople
  • Reporting on workshop performance and cost control
  • Driving a strong safety culture through SWMS, pre-starts, and toolbox talks
  • Overseeing fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance of diesel-powered mining equipment
  • Managing planned maintenance programs, refurbishments, and component replacement
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in workshop operations
Requirements:
  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical, or Fabrication trade
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment
  • Strong knowledge of underground or surface mining equipment
  • Solid budgeting and cost management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft suite
  • A proactive, accountable, and safety-first mindset
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Valid driver's licence, with forklift licence and other tickets advantageous
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screening
