Standards Australia is seeking a Senior Commercial Finance Director to lead the Financial Planning, Analysis and Commercial (FPAC) team within the Finance function. The FPAC team supports the business to achieve short-term and long-term strategic and financial goals in a fast-changing environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial finance, with experience in managing and leading a commercial finance team. They will be responsible for enhancing SA's decision-making efficiency by achieving operational excellence across all planning cadences, such as forecasts, annual budgets and long-term planning.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial systems, tools and software, and will be proficient in financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting. They will also have excellent analytical skills, strong Excel modeling skills, and high levels of initiative and a proactive and forward-thinking attitude.

The Senior Commercial Finance Director will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of 6 (business partners and analysts), developing them into future leaders
  • Enhancing SA's decision-making efficiency by achieving operational excellence across all planning cadences
  • Assisting in improving divisional profitability and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation
  • Monitoring, reviewing and preparing the presentation of the management financials for discussion with the relevant executive member and their leadership team
  • Preparing and/or validating complex business cases in connection with initiatives and business transformations, justifying potential investment by quantifying benefits and identifying KPI's
  • Supporting the CFO, Head of Finance and ELT members with Ad Hoc analysis and insight into the financial performance of the company and divisions
  • Systematising financial and commercial models and reports
  • Managing pricing, promotional, and commercial models
  • Analysing sales, financial, and market data to develop pricing strategies and models
