About the Role

This is a senior leadership position within the Finance function at Standards Australia, responsible for leading the Financial Planning, Analysis and Commercial (FPAC) team. The FPAC team supports the business in achieving short-term and long-term strategic and financial goals in a fast-changing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing SA's decision-making efficiency by achieving operational excellence across all planning cadences, such as forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term planning. They will also assist in improving divisional profitability and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.

The role will involve managing a team of 6 business partners and analysts, developing them into future leaders. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing and/or validating complex business cases in connection with initiatives and business transformations, justifying potential investment by quantifying benefits and identifying KPIs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of 6 business partners and analysts, developing them into future leaders
  • Enhancing SA's decision-making efficiency by achieving operational excellence across all planning cadences
  • Assisting in improving divisional profitability and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation
  • Preparing and/or validating complex business cases in connection with initiatives and business transformations
  • Supporting the CFO, Head of Finance, and ELT members with Ad Hoc analysis and insight into the financial performance of the company and divisions
  • Systematising financial and commercial models and reports
  • Managing pricing, promotional, and commercial models
  • Analysing sales, financial, and market data to develop pricing strategies and models
About You

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, or a similar field, with a Master's degree being favourably regarded. They will also have membership of a recognised Accounting Body, such as CA ANZ or CPA, and a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience within a commercial organisation.

Key requirements will include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, or a similar field
  • Membership of a recognised Accounting Body
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience within a commercial organisation
  • Experience managing and leading a commercial finance team
  • Experience in modelling, budgets, and forecasts
  • Experience leading a transformation in the finance function, across people, processes, and systems
  • Proficiency in financial systems, tools, and software, such as Dynamics365 and Calumo
  • Deep financial and technical expertise, and a proven record of implementing company-wide core FP&A systems
  • High analytical skills and strong Excel modelling skills
  • High levels of initiative and a proactive and forward-thinking attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
