Job Overview

This is an exceptional chance to assume a senior role in a well-established practice with strong national backing and a client base that includes major insurers, government agencies, and prominent employers.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to rebuild and grow the QLD business. This involves bringing in junior lawyers and leveraging existing support staff, such as paralegals, legal secretaries, and graduates.

The role is suitable for candidates aiming for a Special Counsel position with progression to partnership, as well as ambitious Senior Associates seeking a leadership role.

You will work across the full spectrum of employment and workplace law, including:

  • Employment and HR advisory matters
  • Industrial relations strategy
  • Unfair dismissal, discrimination, harassment, and workplace health and safety matters
  • Employment-related litigation and Employment Practices Liability (EPL) insurance claims

Additionally, you will have opportunities to broaden the practice beyond its current workflow, shape the local practice, lead marketing and branding initiatives, and grow a small team.

Main Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing and growing a team of lawyers and support staff
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Rebuilding and growing the QLD practice
  • Working across the full spectrum of employment and workplace law

The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years' post-admission experience specialising in a broad range of Workplace Matters and be seeking to assume a leadership role.
