Senior Distributed Energy Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Distributed Energy Architect to join our DER Engineering team in Melbourne. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and ongoing operations of AGL's Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and interface between hardware and market teams with software teams.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of distributed energy systems, software-based orchestration, and energy markets. You will be responsible for delivering software-based orchestration projects, providing technical leadership to cross-functional technical teams, and integrating into scrum teams.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver software-based orchestration projects by providing technical leadership to cross-functional technical teams.
- Act as the interface between software delivery teams and the DER Engineering team.
- Be a key technical resource who understands site and hardware constraints, energy market requirements, but with a focus on delivering the software and data that enables AGL's VPP capability.
- Demonstrate thought leadership on VPPs and orchestration control strategies providing key inputs to AGL's VPP capability roadmap.
- Represent AGL publicly in appropriate technical forums to provide input on the evolution of government policy and technical standards relevant to VPPs.
- Tertiary or advanced degree in engineering preferred.
- Deep software systems understanding, either from data science or software development roles.
- Relevant energy industry experience from a network, energy company or software company (7+ years preferred).
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated capability to influence internal and external parties through to a preferred outcome.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple explanations.
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams to achieve business outcomes and managing through indirect reporting lines to key delivery stakeholders.
