Job Title: Employment Specialist

The role involves providing assistance to clients with workplace disputes, disciplinary investigations, unfair dismissals, employment contract reviews, and other employment-related claims. Key responsibilities include liaising with clients to understand case issues, managing expectations independently, conducting and managing new client enquiries, and maintaining regular and open communication with clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients to understand their needs
  • Manage client expectations effectively
  • Conduct client enquiries and manage the process
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients
Working With Others:
  • Liaise with senior lawyers and counsel to resolve complex legal issues
  • Supervise and support junior lawyers and legal staff when required
Day-to-Day Tasks:
  • Produce high-quality letters of advice in a timely manner
  • Draft court documents as necessary
  • Conduct file reviews to identify key issues
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified with at least 3+ years post-admission experience
  • Previous experience in Industrial and/or Employment Law and/or Federal and State industrial commissions
  • A strong understanding of politics and trade unions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise empathy and compassion towards clients
  • Experience in managing files end to end
  • Strong problem-solving and judgment skills
  • A team player with excellent collaboration skills
