Employment Tax Professional

This role is a key opportunity for an experienced employment tax professional to develop their specialist tax advisory expertise, focusing on global mobility arrangements, fringe benefits tax (FBT), payroll tax, superannuation, employee share schemes, remuneration planning, and salary sacrifice arrangements across a diverse range of national clients.

The successful candidate will be part of a team working with employers to review and develop FBT policies and procedures. They will also prepare FBT returns using specialist software and assist in cross-border issues related to taxation.

Maintaining compliance reviews and 'health checks' for employers' employment tax obligations is another crucial aspect of this role. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with data and technology experts to design automated tools to streamline tax compliance processes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Consult and advise on various fringe benefits tax, payroll tax, superannuation, employee share scheme, PAYG, and employee versus contractor matters, including audits and cross-border issues
  • Provide international assignment consulting and compliance services across a range of clients and matters
  • Prepare FBT returns using specialist software
  • Review and develop FBT policies and procedures for employers
  • Prepare and review payroll tax returns, undertaking compliance reviews and 'Health Checks' for employers' employment tax obligations
  • Design and implement share plans for C-suite and all other levels
  • Work collaboratively with data and technology experts to help design automated tools
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a similar or complementary role
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work independently
  • Strong research and legal interpretation skills
  • Proactive approach to client relationships and cross-selling of services
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree qualification, majoring in Accounting, Tax, Commerce, Economics, Finance or Law
