We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic/Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Utilities team. As a key member of our national multi-disciplinary team, you will play a critical role in delivering projects that promote holistic, sustainable water resource management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the overall scope and day-to-day tasks of multiple projects, of varying complexity and size.
- Undertake liaison with project stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
- Manage the production and verification of high-quality technical documentation, presenting complex information and results effectively to technical and non-technical clients.
- Develop and maintain technical and commercial acumen, with a focus on successful outcomes for our projects and clients.
- Support and mentor staff, including active participation in the Mentoring Program.
- Contribute to the development of industry standards and best practices through committees, industry bodies, and delivery papers.
- Identify and resolve project safety risks through contemporary Safety in Design methods, ensuring legislative compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications, CPEng and/or RPEQ preferred or working towards obtainment.
- Experience working within an engineering consultancy, or in a design role for a contractor or asset owner.
- Experience in the Water industry is essential.
- Technical skills across a broad range of areas within water and/or wastewater conveyance and treatment.
- Experience in the hydraulic design of water and wastewater conveyance systems, including the use of hydraulic modeling software packages.
- Experience in Equipment Selection and specification applicable to water and wastewater conveyance and treatment.
- Experience with stress analysis design using software or analytical techniques.
- Experience in CHAIR and HAZOP and related safety in design practices and processes.
