We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic Engineer who will play a key role in providing technical support to the Hydraulic engineering discipline. This experienced practitioner will be responsible for delivering high-level technical investigation, design, review, systems development, audit, and advisory services related to all aspects of water and wastewater standards and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Driving an increased awareness in the Safety in Design process through coordination of an effective consultation and delivery plan with resources from Asset Management, Program/Project Management, WHS, Operations, Design and Construction to achieve safe design outcomes.
  2. Providing technical support in Hydraulic engineering discipline matters across the Corporation.
  3. Supporting the technical development of Engineering's Hydraulic team.
  4. Staying up-to-date with industry best practice in Hydraulic engineering matters for the technical discipline.
  5. Engaging with the market to identify opportunities to develop or improve the organization's technical standards.

Requirements include:

  • A Tertiary Civil, Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering qualification.
  • Detailed knowledge of Hydraulic engineering procedures and practices as applied to the water industry and large engineering organisations.
  • Experience in investigation, option, concept, and detailed design of Hydraulic infrastructure associated with the water industry at a high professional level, and auditing of designs prepared by others.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing novel, complex and critical engineering investigations, and designs in the Hydraulic discipline.
  • Development and review of technical and infrastructure standards.
  • Affiliation and Recognition of discipline expertise by Engineers Australia (desirable).
