Aurecon is a leading design, engineering, and advisory company that has been shaping the future for decades. We're seeking a talented Lead Hydraulics Engineer to join our team and contribute to delivering complex projects for defence, health, data centre, and government clients.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing comprehensive hydraulic design solutions for large, complex projects
  • Liaising with authorities, clients, and other external stakeholders
  • Partnering with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-value outcomes for clients
  • Overseeing design work for emerging team members to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Being the primary interface between clients and the Hydraulics team
  • Conducting site visits to ensure work undertaken is per the agreed scope and technical specifications
  • Contributing to the wider Hydraulics team globally on projects when the opportunity and need arise
  • Developing innovative hydraulic solutions that meet sustainability and efficiency standards
  • Mentoring and developing emerging engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and project delivery

What we're looking for

We're seeking a candidate with a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future. Specifically:

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Certificate IV in plumbing design as a minimum
  • Demonstrate sound skills and experience in hydraulic system design
  • Thorough understanding of local Australian buildings codes and standards
  • Prior experience leading project teams on large, complex projects
  • Knowledge of Revit and other hydraulic design tools would be advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to embrace new challenges and technologies
  • Commitment to professional development and staying updated with industry trends and advancements
