About the Role

We are seeking an Australian qualified Lawyer or Senior Associate with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience to join our Restructuring and Bankruptcy team in Sydney.

Our team provides expert advice on complex restructuring and insolvency matters, including liability management exercises, out-of-court and in-court restructurings, new money capital raises, exchange offers, debt exchanges, acquisitions of distressed companies and assets, equity-linked transactions, insolvencies, rescue financings, and litigation risk assessments and mitigation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting for stakeholders across the capital structure wherever they encounter distress;
  • Delivering practical, innovative, and bespoke solutions to clients' challenges using the latest restructuring tools and practice;
  • Supporting clients across industries such as energy, consumer goods, financial services, industrials, aviation, and shipping;
  • Working closely with colleagues across various departments to deliver end-to-end solutions anywhere in the world.

Requirements:

  • 3 – 5 year PQE (Associate/Lawyer)
  • Training from a top-tier law firm with previous restructuring and bankruptcy experience
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • High-level drafting and analytic skills
  • Resilient self-starter with intellectual curiosity and versatility to continuously acquire, build upon, and share knowledge
  • Highly motivated team player with excellent organizational skills
  • Clear and concise communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and a good eye for detail
  • Entrepreneurial drive and strong commercial acumen
  • A person of sound judgment and core values, able to establish a high level of credibility
