Ecological Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to lead high-level ecological advice and support for infrastructure projects across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee ecological components of large-scale projects, including field assessments and reporting.
  • Deliver expert ecological guidance in client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Mentor junior team members through training and technical development.
  • Effectively plan, coordinate, and manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Ensure all ecological work adheres to relevant legislative frameworks and organisational policies.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Environmental Science, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in Queensland's flora/fauna, including BioCondition assessments and regional ecosystem identification.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation and environmental planning processes.
  • Experience in ecological fieldwork, impact assessments, and GIS-based data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and report writing skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and in remote conditions.
