We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Therapeutic Specialist.
About the RoleThis is a pivotal position that requires a unique blend of clinical expertise and real-world impact. As a Therapeutic Specialist, you will work closely with passionate case managers, carer development staff, and other clinical specialists to provide trauma-informed consultation, intervention, and support that empowers carers and uplifts young people.
You will have the opportunity to facilitate reflective practice with care teams, support secure attachment between carers and children, and consult on complex case planning. Every day is different, but the impact you make remains constant.
We are looking for professionals with experience in mental health, trauma, and child and adolescent development who understand the weight of responsibility that comes with this work and are driven by a desire to make things better.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate reflective practice with care teams to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Support secure attachment between carers and children through individualised consultation and intervention.
- Consult on complex case planning to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.
- Work collaboratively with case managers, carer development staff, and other clinical specialists to provide trauma-informed support.
- A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline is essential.
- Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a higher degree in psychology at master's level is preferred.
- Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent, and family clinical practice, family therapy, and systemic thinking is strongly preferred.
