Our team is seeking a Payments Officer to join us on a 12-month contract.

This role will provide operational and administrative support, informed by sound knowledge and requiring research and analysis activities.

You will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders, communicating and providing advice on a range of matters.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Investigating and resolving outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through the provider and participant portals.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries.
  • Processing manual payments to providers and self-managed participants.
  • Working to resolve payment issues, guided by legislation, policies and standards, and Payments Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Consistently meeting team and individual work resolution targets.
  • Ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate skills in dealing with confronting and complex situations, conflict, challenging conversations, and behaviours.

You will also require:

  • Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance.
  • To be an Australian citizen.
