Environmental Sustainability Lead

This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking team as a Environmental Sustainability Lead, where you will play a key part in driving environmental compliance and sustainability across operations.
The role offers a blend of office and field-based work, allowing you to develop and implement effective strategies for reducing environmental impact. You will be responsible for leading environmental assurance activities, including audits, inspections, and control checks, as well as mentoring teams and ensuring high standards are met.
This is a deliverable based role with annual performance reviews and autonomy to deliver agreed outcomes flexibly across hours and sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement sustainable practices and policies to reduce environmental impact
- Lead environmental assurance activities including audits, inspections, and control checks
- Mentor field crews and leadership teams to embed sustainability into daily operations
- Manage environmental incidents and lead investigations with corrective actions
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Management, or related field
- Solid experience in operational or major project environments
- Experience in road transport sector is highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills
