Senior Environmental Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Professional to lead environmental compliance, community engagement, and progressive rehabilitation initiatives across our Peak Mines and legacy sites.

This 12-month fixed-term role offers the opportunity to grow, influence positive outcomes, and contribute to a collaborative workplace where your expertise is valued.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Environmental Management, Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience, with at least 4 years of experience in a similar role and strong understanding of NSW environmental legislation, approvals, and reporting.

Key responsibilities include leading environmental compliance and approvals, fostering positive community and stakeholder relationships, mentoring and supporting the Environment & Community team's growth, ensuring regulatory reporting and environmental standards are met, and guiding operations and exploration teams on sustainable practices.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Management, Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role
  • At least 2 years in mining or heavy industry
  • Strong understanding of NSW environmental legislation, approvals, and reporting
  • Experienced in managing teams, projects, and stakeholder relationships effectively
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and mentoring skills with a collaborative approach
