
Advanced Communication Specialist

The role of Advanced Communication Specialist is to provide exceptional care for individuals with acquired brain injuries and other neurological conditions, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Main Responsibilities- Assess communication impacts on daily life and develop intervention strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with individuals and their social network to problem solve and overcome barriers in communication.
- Deliver training to staff and service users' social network to enhance effective communication practices.
- Support eating, drinking, and swallowing needs under the supervision of a Clinical Lead SaLT.
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings and complete reports as required to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Maintain integral involvement in service and organisational development initiatives.
- Must possess a Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
- Demonstrate achieved Dysphagia Competencies and specialist knowledge of SaLT models and interventions in ABI.
- A minimum of 18 months qualified experience in Neurological settings is essential.
- A strong preference for teamwork and collaborative environments.
