Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Mammography examinations involve performing diagnostic imaging procedures to help identify breast abnormalities. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will utilize advanced equipment to collect high-quality images for further analysis.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Conducting mammogram exams on patients with the utmost care and precision
  • Collecting patient medical history, prior films/reports, and other relevant information
  • Ensuring compliance with FDA/ACR standards through Quality Control (QC) measures
  • Providing technical support to other imaging modalities within the facility
  • Managing and interpreting mammogram results and reminders as needed
Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred
  • Certificate from a College or Technical School Mammography Program (State approved) and ARRT (M) certification are necessary
  • Current CPR certification and a valid state driver's license may be required; meeting initial requirements under MQSA standards is also essential

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, organizational/multi-tasking abilities, and basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Physical Demands

This position requires working in an environment with strong magnetic fields, potential exposure to blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases. Employees will spend most of their time sitting, standing, walking, using repetitive hand/arm movements, and engaging in visual, auditory, and verbal communication with patients.

The job occasionally involves stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, carrying/lifting non-ambulatory patients, and transfer/examination activities.
