DEUTZ, a leading manufacturer of innovative drive systems based in Melbourne, Australia, is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager.

About the Opportunity

This exciting role presents itself for a professional with proven experience in off-grid battery storage systems. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director and involve occasional overseas travel.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategies to enter and build up battery storage product sales within the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new channels to market for DEUTZ battery system products.
  • Establish market share within the battery storage industry.
  • Establish business relationships with new OEMs.
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Attend and work at key industry events and exhibitions to increase presence in active markets.
  • Develop advertising and marketing strategies with assistance from the Marketing team.
  • Monitor competitor data to ensure DEUTZ remains competitive within our target markets.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • SAA Design accreditation for off-grid battery systems.
  • Technical knowledge of off-grid battery systems, including electrical systems.
  • A strategic thinker with short, medium & long-term planning mindset.
  • Technical sales experience in off-grid battery systems for mining, agriculture, and construction sectors.
  • Business acumen/commercial experience.
  • Quotation & tender preparation & costing experience.
  • Advanced level in MS Office & systems.
  • Ability to define & implement strategies to grow the business & meet targets.
  • Motivator to all stakeholders.
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Problem-solving & prompt issue resolution mindset.
  • Flexible and open to change.
  • Maintain customer service focus at all times.
