Job Title: Grid Connection Specialist

The Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced Grid Connection Specialist to join our team in managing grid connections for large-scale renewable energy projects across the National Electricity Market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing grid connection applications and approval processes for large-scale renewable energy projects across the NEM
  • Coordinating with TNSPs and DNSPs on connection requirements
  • Developing connection strategies and technical solutions for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects
  • Managing grid connection studies including system impact studies, network modelling, and protection coordination
  • Overseeing connection agreement negotiations and technical requirements compliance
  • Coordinating with project development teams on site selection, layout optimisation, and grid connection feasibility
  • Managing relationships with AEMO, network operators, and regulatory authorities on connection matters
  • Supervising the design and construction of transmission line connections and substation infrastructure
  • Ensuring compliance with grid codes, technical standards, and connection requirements
  • Managing grid connection budgets, timelines, and contractor relationships
  • Supporting due diligence processes for project financing and investment decisions
  • Coordinating commissioning activities and grid energisation processes
  • Providing technical input on grid constraint analysis and network capacity assessments

  • Expertise in grid connection management for large-scale renewable energy projects
  • Strong understanding of TNSP and DNSP connection requirements
  • Proven track record in developing effective connection strategies and technical solutions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
