Job Title: Senior Consultant

The position of Senior Consultant is a key role within the Department and the broader public sector.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing as soon as possible. The Commercial and Contracting Services Directorate has responsibility for the provision of support to various government departments, including contract planning and management, insurance management, fleet management, and commercial legal advice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level advice, training, and support to business units on procurement and contract management activities.
  • Facilitate initiation documentation, service design, and policy advice to support value-for-money outcomes and compliance with government procurement rules.
  • Maintain and update the Procurement and Contract Management Framework, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with government procurement rules and best practice.
  • Coordinate compliance reporting, audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of procurement practices.

Applicants will be expected to apply foundations of contract law to procurement activities, provide interpretation of contract terms and conditions, and escalate issues or seek advice from legal experts when necessary. This role requires current knowledge and understanding of government procurement frameworks, policies, and procedures, including social procurement considerations.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Law, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience in contract management and procurement.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
