Job Description

The data center operations team plays a pivotal role in supporting the company's infrastructure 24/7.

We are committed to maintaining the physical infrastructure of our facilities, ensuring high standards for operational performance in areas such as safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a rotating shift pattern that may include night shifts and weekends.
  • Support management of routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems such as power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, fire systems, etc.
  • Install new rack capacity and provision power and cooling resources.
  • Manage on-site contractors and vendors, ensuring work is performed in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports and documentation of all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Oversee asset management for the facility.
  • Generate change management requests and incident management tickets for all facility-related events (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and assist in resolving infrastructure engineering and services issues.
  • Collaborate with data center IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate day-to-day operations, projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.
  • Drive and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability, as well as assist in the design implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new data center facilities.
A Day in the Life:

At large-scale data centers, you will be involved in:

  • Work schedule changes depending on specific site needs.
  • Shifts are typically 12-hours and rotate on a predefined schedule.
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and facility management.
  • Provide operational readings and key performance indicators to ensure uptime is maintained.
  • On-site management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring work performed meets established standards and local regulations.
  • Performance oversight of maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
