Cloud Infrastructure Specialist Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As part of the AWS Infrastructure Services team, you'll be responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all of AWS's global infrastructure.

You'll work on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting supply chains. Your expertise will help ensure cloud reliability, supporting all data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that enable customers to access innovative solutions continuously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support routine maintenance and emergency service of critical systems
  • Install new rack capacity and provision power/cooling resources
  • Oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring work aligns with best practices, procedures, and local legislation
  • Establish performance benchmarks, analyze data, and document all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance
  • Collaborate with data center IT managers and business leaders to coordinate day-to-day operations, projects, capacity, safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency
Day-to-Day Activities
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installations and decommissioning; manage facility operations effectively
  • Provide operational readings and KPIs to maintain uptime
  • Oversee maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in the data center
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent diploma as basic qualification
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical fields
